WITH
ARTSFEST 2006
What is ArtsFest?
ArtsFest is a week-long arts festival that will take place on Lehigh University’s Campus and in South Side Bethlehem. It will feature both local community and Lehigh student/staff/faculty artists and culminate in several world premiers, including a new installation by internationally renowned artist, Zhang Hongtu. The festival will have designated exhibition/performance venues and will also occur in “found spaces” throughout Lehigh University’s campus and the South Side Bethlehem community. Our goal is to create an atmosphere of creativity, playfulness, and shared community for the duration of the week.
Some of the prospective events include:
- Installation art and sculptures
- Living Statues
- Live Theatre and Music
- Spoken Word
- Dances and Pig roasts
- Random explosions of creative energy
- Engineer a Rube Goldberg Puzzle competition
- Sidewalk Art and Coloring Stations
- Fashion Shows
- Random Explosions of Performance Art
When is ArtsFest?
ArtsFest will begin on Monday, April 3, 2006 and runs through the week until Friday, April 7, 2006.
What can you do?
We want you to participate. If you have any desire to express yourself creatively then we want you to dance, to act, to scream out loud. Whether you have a project of your own, are interested in organizational and technical work, volunteering, or you would like to participate and simply have no idea what to do – let us know. There is a place for you.
