| Education in ethical considerations forms part of the training of undergraduate science and engineering students. It serves to inculcate a basic understanding of ethical systems, the interaction of society and technology, and the role of the professional scientist or engineer within this structure. In this new course, Societal and Ethical Issues in Nanotechnology, these tools will be brought to bear upon the emerging field of nanoscience and nanotechnology.
The course will seek to attract students from a wide range of disciplines, to provide actual experience of the breadth of the nanoscience and technology (NST) world, and the attendant difficulties and rewards of interacting
