Department: Honors Program/Philosophy
Technological change is rapid and profound. How does it affect us and how should we manage it? One particular area of innovation involves nanotechnologies, which use materials around one-billionth of a meter in size. Nanotechnology and Society is a non-technical, interdisciplinary course designed to introduce students to various kinds of new nanotechnologies, the basic science behind them, and the related social, environmental, economic, and ethical issues. We'll look at nanoscience research taking place at NKU and discuss the potential benefits and threats to our future
